Drawing one of these cartoons will get you killed.
Proverbs 6:16-19
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
Hands that shed innocent blood.
If there is a god, these guys are going to hell. I just heard the two they were after are dead. Too bad. I would’ve liked them to face the law. Now they’ll just be martyrs for more nutjobs who are bound to come crawling out of the woodwork.

I came over to yours to wish you all the best in 2015!
It is sad and dangerous world this world we all created … and sadly nothing new there as it has been for thousands and thousands of years. Only the ‘colours’ of fanatics change.
Still – have the best year!

I have my moments. π People use religion to forward their own ends. I am pretty sure the new testament teaches forgiveness and peace. Having said that my favourite book is from the old testament. I like ecclesiastical.

From what I’ve read all the holy books of all of the religions teach forgiveness and peace. But man (and sorry but I mean that in the male sense….not the humankind sense) has interpreted them for their own means for thousands upon thousands of years. Sad but true.

I agree 100% with your comment. My blog is not normally political, I like to write about the fun and sometimes difficulties of living in Italy, but I was shocked by the shooting in Paris.

Sometimes the horror of the world we live in creeps into even the most cheerful situation.
Although I don’t agree with what a lot of people say (Fox News in the US comes to mind) I still support their right to say it….no matter how offensive. When we hit the people we find offensive with what really hurts them….by refusing to listen or buy what they are selling….only then will they cease what they are doing.
No matter what we must stand up to terrorism. If we don’t, they win.
Too bad life has to be a contest.

If these guys had been arrested, we could have gone along with their religious beliefs and punished them following the methods described in the Koran. But otherwise, it’s a peaceful book….

I read this a day ago and wasn’t going to Like or comment, but I have to say something.
I am not going to hold a pen in the air or say “I am Charlie”. Why ? You haven’t shown any of the cartoons that offend Islam. Your Proverbs verse also applies to CH cartoons. Keep poking a snake with a pencil and you’ll soon be bitten. CH showed no respect or kindness towards anyone and hitting on a religion that does have crazy people was asking for trouble. CH is not a victim. The innocent people and police who were killed are the victims. Freedom of speech does not apply here as CH attacked a religion knowing full well that the paper would get publicity from its anti-islamic cartoons.

Hi Ralph,
Thank you for your comment, you raise interesting views and although I don’t agree with all of them we are able to discuss them without any fear.
I personally think any person who thinks he can walk into an office or building in any part of the world and murder people should be treated as a snake and poked with a stick.

Hi Ralph,
I’m not a WordPress blogger but glad I can comment. I am afraid you are mistaken in your comment that none of the cartoons offend Islam: the first cartoon does as it is intended to depict the prophet Mohammed and Islam forbids such depiction in writing or pictures and it is that in itself which offends. The content does not have to be explicit, crude or inflammatory it is the mere depiction that is impermissible and therefore deemed to be offensive.
Personally, I laughed out loud at every single one of the cartoons.

I will never ever try to draw any of the photos. But honestly, they are so hilarious. I like the last photo so much. For me, it’s a simple way of telling us that there’s still hope. If we experience something terrible in the past or in the present, we should not just sit and mourn on our misfortune. Instead, try to look at the brighter side of things and understand God’s purpose. From there we can try to pick up our broken pieces and start a brand new day with full enthusiasm.
