I know a couple of you follow this blog in the hope of reading one of Mrs Sensible’s authentic Sicilian recipes, not wanting to disappoint you I have decided to create the Pecora Nera Home Cooking Channel.
Before you try the recipe I did try it on little Mario to see what he thought and his initial thoughts were,
And Marco said
So here is a link to my latest video from Pecora Nera’s home cooking channel.
For Christmas I will upload ‘ How to prepare a traditional Christmas Lunch
I was going to upload a picture of a whole Chicken in a Can, but it made me feel a little queezy and I don’t want to put you off my Spaghetti Bolognese recipe.
Are you sure that you’re not “the Galloping Gourmet” in disguise…? … that slurp of red whilst cooking might have just given it all away …

😂 I should have put a ‘do not try this at home’ health warning

I’m sure you’ll have your own cooking show in no time 😉 Actually I’m surprised you’re even allowed to have a microwave in your kitchen!

Gosh! how could I nuke spaghetti without one 😉
By the way I have left the remaining cans on display in the kitchen, let’s see Mrs S explain them to her friends 😂

I’d be more worried about the Christmas Tinner – mein Gott… 😉

You should google chicken in a can, but don’t expect to be able to eat chicken for a week or two

Ha, I might leave it – feeling a bit ill as it is!

PN Channel never disappoints – creative cooking and spelling (“queezy”) all rolled into one! Love it!!!!

Queezy is so much better than queasy. And I remember Heinz spag bog being much tastier, maybe they have changed the recipe.

…or maybe, just maybe, you’ve actually had some decent pasta since then 😉 It’s just like dubbing – it doesn’t bother you if it’s all you’ve ever known. But once you know what the actors actually sound like, dubbed films become excruciating to watch.

It’s inventive to put a 3 course meal in a tin, but I like Ice Cream for dessert

I always sort of wondered what was inside cans like that, and seeing as I never would have bought one to find out, I’m so glad you jollily walked me through the process. I can’t decide if it’s about what I imagined or scarier than I imagined.

I would think scarier, I can’t believe I used to eat this when I was younger. Or that they still manage to sell millions of cans if this stuff

I was just thinking that what’s missing from the video is you sampling the “food” after it’s been prepared. Maybe you could place the dish on the floor for your pet, who sniffs it and walks away.

My stupid cat Mishmash would probably eat it….

There is one thing for certain. No one can “goof up” with this recipe. Love your cooking channel. Maybe you’ll be contacted by Food Network here in the states. I think they need someone with your cooking abilities. Your show would be a hit.

You are too kind, I might have to try something a little more difficult like, corn beef sandwiches or ….

Hee hee or ha ha. That could be a winner.

Loved it! One small gripe…. you didn’t show us the inside of the can after the fork was applied. How will tell if we’ve got every last bit of goodness out?
I will be following your channel with much interest now.

After watching your video I feel confident that I could manage to cook a spag bol for myself. I’m really looking forward to the next video so that I can widen my culinary repertoire. 🙂

Dear Elaine, please watch the video 3 or 4 times before attempting to cook the spag bog…
It took 4 takes to get the training video right. on the first take the spag bog was burnt and crispy, on the second take we opened and nuked a can of cat food by mistake…. nobody noticed until we had reviewed the video
The third take went well, until we tasted the final dish…. we tried unsuccessfully to edit that bit out….. in the end we took a fourth take and didn’t do the tasting bit

😀 Only if you are sure that you are not going to be creating any culinary delights in the near future. I wouldn’t like to deprive Mrs Sensible of your cordon bleu cookery skills.
