This post was inspired by a fellow blogger called “I used to be indecisive” who posted this post.
I normally blog about Italy and humour, but a change is as good as a rest, so here are a few unique photos of Italy.
Mr Tree
Nearly everyday I drive past this tree. I wonder how many children have nightmares because of Mr Tree, or are told behave or Mr Tree will get you.

I spotted this car in Catania, Sicily. I love it.

This is Lucy, one of my daughters. She is completely unique and very special.
Veronica a unique little girl
And finally, Veronica a very special and unique little girl. Here she is in Milan walking with the help of her papa. Despite her disabilities (she has cerebral palsy) she is always smiling. Veronica was born one month before Mrs Sensible and I married. It was in her papas restaurant (sadly now closed), that I met Mrs Sensible.
If there is anyone out there in cyberland who has a huge heart, and wants to make a difference to a unique and special girl, or for those of you in Italy, who can give 5% per thousand of their tax to a worthy charity. Lovely and unique photos, though I’m afraid I will have nightmares about Mr. Tree tonight.
Inspiring to see Veronica’s Papa helping her walk. I’ve seen a lot of Italians caring for disabled children (unfortunately due to spending so much time in hospital with my own little boy) and I have been moved to tears by the extraordinary love and devotion they show their bambini without ever seeming to get ground down or too disheartened by it all. Italian parents have inspired me in my own parenting many times….

Veronica is great, and her parents are fantastic. They have taken her to the USA and other countries for specialist help.
But it is expensive, hence their website.

Yes, we have to take my son to Germany. My Mother sold her house and moved into a smaller one to pay some medical bills for us. We spend more than half my husband’s salary each month on medicine and medical bills. 😦 I hope we’ll get out of this nightmare one day.

When you see a tree like this, you understand were stories of talking trees and people being turned into trees come from.

Each year I promise myself that I will hide a red light in the tree. But alas I always forget.

oh, hum, that tree is most likely a Gelso ( Morus alba probably), nothing unique in Italy, a mulberry; and a very old one; in Italy they are generally cut and trimmed like that; their beautiful large leaves were used and are probably still used to feed silkworms. And please ask around: there is nobody in Italy that scares children by means of trees : we are NOT druids ! the mulberry also has sweet rich grainy fruit, white or dark red, or black, that children and adults eat right off the tree, or harvest in baskets.

You are probable correct, but if I was still 7 years old (and at times I wish I was) if I saw a tree that appeared to have a face and two arms…. it would scare the pants off me.

lovely post Pecora Nera, it looks like Veronica has a lot of love around her, good of you to spread the story and your lovely and genuine connection to her via her papa’ .
p.s. the tree looks really scary and has a big mouth but no teeth, so it can’t bite.

A comment from my 7 year old son on Mr Tree:
“Mr Tree is scafunny. That means he is scary and funny at the same time. Mr Tree would like a friend so you should plant a silly bush next to him.”
